The Macdown event series was dreamed up as a collaboration between Airlock and Macro to bring fans a new kind of show. We’ve teamed up for two iterations, with the Macdown 3 coming in April 2024. The goal is simple: elevate Apex Legends’ esports through unique twists and put on an entertaining show by and for the community. Macro was able to put his spin on broadcast content through custom-made skits, twitch chat votes to affect the tournament, legend cosplays, an engaging legend ban system, his unique art style, and more.

To get professional players and audiences alike engaged, characters would be banned round after round based on who was most used and who Twitch chat cast their vote for. This kept players on their toes and pushed teams to switch up their strategies as the tournament progressed. Viewers loved seeing unique team compositions, and players enjoyed breaking out of the most commonly used strategies and team compositions.
